Luna Park Stadium | San Nicolás

Besides box fights, the Luna Park is venue of recitals of music and different artistic shows Luna Park Luna Park is located at downtown, very close to the Obelisque The Luna Park is the temple of the box

An emblematic Building of the city of Buenos Aires, it constitutes a stage of international prestige. It was born as a Sports Venue dedicated fundamentally to boxing through which the most prestigious figures in the world have past and taken part in championships remembered throughout the world. It is the fulfilled dream of its owner Jose "Tito" Lectoure. Until then, the competition was carreid out in modest and precarious social venues. It was inaugurated in 1934, and displays a contemporary style. Its great internal structure allows to modify its lay out according to the necessities of each event and spectacle that takes place there. Although its central ring has always been the soul of this place, it has been a sports, recreational and cultural center since its conception. Parallel to the sport activity, with the years, it grew into a venue for different musical spectacles, ballet and mega concerts of artists of great importance, for those for whom the possibility of acting in "el Luna" is always a dream to fulfill, exhausting its capacity that goes from 12.000 to 35.000 people, depending on the lay out demanded. This place keeps much more history than the one related to sports or artistic shows. Great part of the social, historical and cultural life has taken place in Luna Park. Juan Pablo II has been here, Juan Domingo Perón and Eva Duarte met in this place, and, the vestiges of Julio Sosa, Carlos Gardel, Oscar Bonavena and Pascual Perez have been mourned here as well. At an artistic level, stars such as Frank Sinatra, Pavarotti, Liza Minelli, Joan Manuel Serrat and many other great artists of the entire world have been on stage, and continue embellishing its billboard.
