Museum of Spanish American Museum Isaac Fernández Blanco | Retiro

This museum is situated in the Noel Palace (former city major). The building represents the neo-colonial style of the ‘20s, with a national architecture appearance. The interior gardens reveal a clear Spanish influence. The collection guards testimonies of the cultural Hispanic American life and the Argentinean History. There are works by the Jesuits and Gauraní natives, like the silverware, furniture, books and documents, and paintings from what was called Upper Perú and Cuzco. The museum was donated to the city in 1922 by its owner, Isaac Fernandez Blanco, who was named honorary director, keeping said office until 1927. It has a vast library devoted to Hispanic American Art. It opens from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 2pm to 7pm, with daily 4pm guided visits, being it also possible to request special visits for sightless or hearing impaired people. Likewise, theme visits or English or French guides are also available, as long as they are booked in advance.
