They started to show themselves when the carnival was at its peak, during the ‘40s and ‘50s. At a time of sexual liberation, they crowded the streets, taking over Godoy Cruz in Palermo neighbourhood, and turning it into a red-light spot. Any body wandering the streets could come across sculptural bodies made up to the last detail, with astounding curves, showing their “merchandise” in the most erotic lingerie and little clothing on them.

However, the complaints of the residents of the neighbourhood about this permanent shameless exhibition, even at times when minors could see them, lead the City government to pass a law, making them leave the area, now moving to the Palermo woods.
